Fadlullah called for making the coming elections successful and maintaining awareness that appeared in the province councils' elections

His Eminence, the Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received a delegation from the Iraqi Reform Movement, headed by former Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari. The delegation included: Faleh al-Fayyad, Dr. Abd-Al-Aziz Al-Tamimi, Sadeq Al-Tayyar, Dr. Abd-Al-Hussein Al-Askari, and Ahmad Al-Asadi.

During the meeting, the horizons of the future period Iraq is ahead of were discussed, as well as the official and public preparations to strengthen the domestic relations in Iraq and reinforce the unity of its people, especially now that the occupation is about to withdraw.

His Eminence, Sayyed Fadlullah, stressed the need that the internal Iraqi fabric should remain cohesive, with its religious, political, and ethnical factions to face the coming period and its complications inside Iraq and its surrounding. The Sayyed called on the countries surrounding Iraq to respect the particularity of Iraq and the situation of its people and the tragedy those people have experienced under the tyrant's regime and the occupation. These countries should not only consider their policies, but should give an open eye for the interests and future of the Iraqi people, especially since any negative results that plague Iraq will impact its periphery.

He said that Iraq has offered much for the Arab and Islamic causes, and it is able through its people to offer much more for the Arab and Islamic worlds, particularly the Palestinian cause. He called on everyone to work hard to make the coming elections successful, by maintaining awareness which was noticeable during the province councils' elections.
