Te Lebanese Islamic Discourse

Sayyed Fadlullah: we warn our Islamic and Arab peoples, especially the Lebanese, and call upon them to be careful and not to fall for the American game of deception.

Asked in his weekly seminar the following question: As the Lebanese crisis deepens and as the Lebanese discourse further complicates, how do you view the Lebanese Islamic political discourse in view of these development?

The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, said:

There is a constant the Islamic discourse should always be based on, even in its slogans and political deployment… This constant is rationality. If some claim that the situation is critical, we believe that in such situations of challenge, the need for objectivity and rationality is greater so as not to provoke hatred and incite instincts.

As we monitor some of the examples of the discourse that prevail in the Arab and Islamic world in general and in Lebanon in particular, we feel sorry for the political elite that takes stands that do not comply with their goals.

We have noticed that this discourse focuses on the internal issues and ignores what is going on in the region. It could be that they are either covering up or that they are not well informed about the American plot that is trying to exploit the need for reform and change to promote its own interests.

To do this, the Americans are trying to bolster the image of some of the adventures as well as the relatively unknown politicians just because those politicians who do not represent their peoples have accepted to call for what the American Administration has proposed for their countries in an effort to facilitate the execution of the American and Israeli strategic goals.

Today's America with all the officials of its Administration and its neo-cons is an adventurous country on the strategic level. It tampers with the destiny of the people and tries to encourage chaotic and arbitrary projects.

Therefore, we warn our Islamic and Arab peoples, especially the Lebanese, and call upon them to be careful and not to fall for the American game of deception. We will only harvest further destruction, division and chaos if we listen to the envoys America has been sending in this stage.

If we go back to the previous envoys, Robert Murphey in 1958 and Richard Murphey in 1988, we will deduce that the new envoys Satterfield and the others are here to incite civil strife, complicate the political situation and push towards fragmentation, and dissent.

O Lebanese:

The Israeli and Sharonite America wants to put you yet again into the maze of the American Israeli project that is based on spreading chaos in the countries that surround Palestine by inciting sectarian instincts. Do not fall once again in this trap. We have already been stunk a thousand times.
