America
continues to destroy Iraq, support the Israeli plot of
eradicating the Palestinians and threaten Syria and Iran

Sayyed Fadlullah: Any
attempt to put an end to the state of weakness and imbalance the
nation is currently witnessing could not be undertaken unless we
devise a comprehensive plan for internal change in the face of the
change being imposed from the outside, which aims at destroying
whatever sources of strength we have left
Asked in his weekly
seminar the following question : At a time the American
Administration is talking about an “historical opportunity for
change in the Middle East” American pressures on Syria continue,
and the state of security worsens in Iraq as the Americans
continue their aggressions on the social and political security of
the Iraqis… Meanwhile Israel continues its brutal aggression on
the Palestinians. What kind of change in the region does America
promise?
The Religious Authority
Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah said:
It is quite
astonishing and ionic, especially in this stage, that the American
Administration, which was the major cause of the chaos in Iraq and
whose aggressions encourage Sharon to escalate his barbaric policies
of atrocities and massacres against the Palestinians… It is ironic
and even cynical that this administration is trying to present itself
as the savior that will relief the region from the mounting security
chaos and political turmoil…It even claims that Bush is the first
American president who is working on establishing a Palestinian state,
as if this state is an American gift. Nevertheless, the Palestinians
had a state under the British mandate, although it was not an
independent one.
The Americans
say that we accuse them of not being serious about the “Road Map”.
But this is not an accusation; it is a fact. Whoever wants to work on
a project especially if it is as big as building a state in Palestine
has to adopt a certain balance between all parties. Yet, what is
taking place in Palestine proves that the American Administration is
more Israeli than the Israelis. It pronounces the Intifada
organization and the martyr operations as terrorism, while it does not
condemn the Israeli organized eradication of the Palestinians,
including the assassinations, the closure the mass detention,
demolishing houses… the separating fence ...etc.
Moreover,
America is not serious in implementing the Road Map. It only wants it
to provide a cover that allows the Israelis to say to the world that
watches their atrocities that it is trying to work for a political
solution while in actual fact it continues its policy of eradication.
As for Syria,
America talks with Syria as if it is a dictator talking to its
subjects; it only gives orders, imposing its will and refusing any
discussions or dialogue. What is the meaning then of all the talk
about freedom and democracy that America claims it wants to see in
this region, if this is the way it talks with an independent state
like Syria whose role and significance are quite acknowledged by all
the parties in the region?
Furthermore,
what applies to Syria applies to Iran as well, for it also has a
significant and an independent role that is widely acknowledged. Yet
America continues to threaten Iran accusing it of being a terrorist or
a rogue state, or any other term that the successive administrations
have used to promote their political projects at the expense of the
region’s states and nations.
America is,
in the end, the one responsible for the state of instability in the
region. It is responsible for everything that is going on in
Palestine. It is also responsible for starving the Iraqi people and
for undermining its economy.
It is also
trying to make Iraq as a whole an item for sale to the American and
other companies.
Iraq is part
of the nation, and, as such, nobody has the right to sell it. It
belongs to its people and to its nation. We have to voice our
opposition to those who trying to sell the Iraqi economy claiming that
they are encouraging foreign investment...
Finally, any
attempt to put an end to the state of weakness and imbalance the
nation is currently witnessing could not be undertaken unless we
devise a comprehensive plan for internal change in the face of the
change being imposed from the outside, which aims at destroying
whatever sources of strength we have left.
