The conditions of Jihad

His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, delivered the two Friday prayer sermons at the Imamain Al-Hassanain Mosque, Shawwal 29th 1436 H. – August, 14th 2015. Several prominent religious scholars, dignitaries and thousands of believers attended the Jumu’a prayer.

In the first sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, talked about the two types of Jihad, the lesser Jihad (against the enemy) and the greater Jihad (against one’s soul). He said that there is a need for institutionalizing the lesser Jihad and facilitating the achievement of the greater Jihad.

In the second sermon, the Sayyed called yet again the political parties in Lebanon to rise to the level of the challenges the people of this country are facing and to try to reach common factors, since it has become crystal clear that there is no alternative other than dialogue and accord.

The Sayyed denounced the return to betting on one side or another in the region and hoping that this side wins in the end so as to receive the benefits, emphasizing that we only win when we are united. He added that each political party has the right to express its fears, but it has to study as well, especially in this stage, its discourse and movements, and not to resort to sectarian mobilization that might take us back to the stage of civil war.

The Sayyed praised the reforms taken by the Iraqi government and called for pursuing them, especially that corruption in the country has reached unprecedented levels.

The Sayyed ended by celebrating the anniversary of the 2006 victory over the Zionist Enemy and called on the Lebanese to enhance their internal unity so as not to lose what they have achieved so far. He also called for not preoccupying the Lebanese with their daily errands.
