Fadlullah and Al-Masri confirmed the need to protect the Islamic and national unity
A meeting between His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, and the Secretary General of Al-Jamaa'a Al-Islamiyya (Islamic Group) in Lebanon Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Masri was convened in As-Saha Cultural Village restaurant. During the meeting, they went through the developments in Lebanon and the Arab region and the ongoing situation in both the Arab and Islamic fronts, and confirmed the necessity of making every effort to promote Islamic unity and deter any attempt to incite sectarian, confessional or political strife.

His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, expressed his fear that the last explosions that took place in Iraq might be a part of a scheme that aims at destroying Iraq and destabilizing it from within, as a substitute for occupation. His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, issued a statement in which he confirmed that Islam has nothing to do with the crimes that targeted Christian churches in Nigeria, regardless of the mentality of whoever executed these criminal acts, and he called for denouncing these crimes and any similar massacres by taking a decisive religious stand.
