of the sequence "My memories with Sayyed Fadlullah

The issue
of suppressing anger was extensively discussed by
the Quranic Ayahs and noble traditions, which regard
it as a great trait that elevates man’s status and
position before Allah and his fellow humans. Allah
mentions in His Book the traits of the pious people
whom Allah promised with Heaven, forgiveness and
satisfaction: “And those who restrain (their) anger
and pardon men; and Allah loves the doers of good
(to others).” (03:134)...Read

The aware
and conscious scholars ought to endeavor and strive
with their knowledge, and they should not feel scared
from telling the truth and giving the right to the
one entitled to it, even if that went against the
deviated ignorant mythical mentalities, which face
up to any thought that differs from what they are
familiar with, including the ancient beliefs that
the late fathers and grandfathers believed in, and
the wrong concepts that offend Islam and its entire

His
Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, delivered the two Friday
sermons. In the first sermon, he talked about Abu Thar Al-Ghafari,
the Prophet's companion who was among the first to embrace
Islam. He was the voice of the right, until he was exiled
and died alone in a foreign land. In the second sermon,
the Sayyed commemorated the Palestinian Catastrophe (An-Nakba)
which took place 64 years ago and represents a big disaster
for the international conscience. In Lebanon, the Sayyed
warned against the dangerousness of what is going on in
Tripoli and called on the government to shoulder its responsibilities.
In
this article, His Eminence, the late Religious Authority,
Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra), discusses
the issue of resurrection and the deepening of faith.
He begins by citing the Ayah that says: “And verily
the hour will come; there can be no doubt about
it,” (22:07); and discusses it “not in the sense
of discussing the possibility of its existence,
since the ability of creating what is similar to
it is a proof on the ability of creating it, and
not in the sense of its occurrence, since Allah
is the ultimate truth that confirms the truth that
takes place in the reality just as He confirms it
in His revelations to His messengers, and: “Allah
will raise up all who are in the graves,” (22:07).
Islam
had set restraints that govern the Muslims’ sexual
relations, knowing that it forbids any sexual extramarital
affairs that represent obscenity which smears man’s
purity; thus, tarnishing his soul and derailing
him from the straight path in a way that contradicts
with man’s interest in life. Allah did not want
man to live his sexual instincts in a chaotic manner
by instantly responding to any incidental state
that comes and goes without actually having any
impact of any kind on his life. Allah wanted man
to live his sexual instincts as part of the deep
human relations, in a way that he would experience
serenity, stability and tranquility, as well as
the integration of materialism with spirituality.
As
the Egyptian presidential elections draw near, the
issue of female circumcision surfaced. MP Nasser
al-Shaker of the Salafi-led Nour Party brought up
the issue and demanded annulling the law that bans
this practice as stipulated in the Egyptian criminal
law. The 2008 law stipulates “criminating all those
involved in practicing female circumcision within
and outside the institutions of the Ministry of
Health.”
In
a step seemingly related to certain calculations
for the coming presidential elections in America,
President Barrack Obama publicly endorsed same sex
marriage in an interview with ABC channel. He considered
that it is about time to confirm his personal endorsement
to their right to marriage; thus, becoming the first
president in the history of the United States of
America to declare while in post that he is in favor
of this marriage, a few days after his Vice President,
Joe Biden, declared so.
An
Islamic website posted a jurisprudential study on
the ruling regarding performing autopsy on a dead
Muslim for medical purposes. The research pointed
that autopsy is divided into three kinds: First:
Autopsy for the sake of investigating a criminal
case Second: Autopsy for the sake of investigating
epidemic diseases to take the necessary prevention
measures. Thirds: Autopsy for the sake of educational
purposes, both teaching and learning.
Several
newspapers reported news which says that the India’s
Supreme Court ordered the government to scrap a
state policy of subsidizing the travel of thousands
of Muslims to Mecca for the annual hajj pilgrimage.
"We hold that the policy is best done away with
and it should be eliminated over 10 years," said
Judge Altamas Kabir.
By
the contributions of donors, especially from the
Azerbaijani government, an Islamic center was opened
in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, near the only
mosque in the area that would serve as headquarters
for the Islamic educational institutions in Serbia.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Serbian
President, Boris Tadi?, some officials from Azerbaijan,
and a number of heads of religious communities in
Serbia.
The
religious advisor to the Mauritanian Premier, Aslamo
Weld Seidi Al-Mustafa, said in a story posted on
several websites that it is permissible for the
woman to run for the country’s presidency; however,
she should be prevented from doing so if there is
a possibility for her to actually win as a prelude
to prevent her from assuming the position of head
of state.”.
